FLS Solutions

Chemical processing equipment solutions

Chemical processes demand separation and recovery equipment that handle corrosive, high-temperature and high-pressure conditions reliably. The many processes and equipment our core industries share with the chemicals industry means your chemicals operations can benefit strongly from using our products.

Experience you can trust

  • 70+years of separation expertise

KREBS® has served the chemical and petrochemical industries since 1952, with hydrocyclone installations across evaporator, crystalliser, refinery and gas scrubber applications worldwide.

  • Unlimitedalloy material options

Stainless steel, Hastelloy, Nickel, Duplex 2205, Alloy 20, CD4MCU and more — every cyclone is engineered to the corrosion, temperature and pressure requirements of your specific process stream.

  • 10μmseparation fineness achievable

CP Vessels with ceramic cyclones remove particles down to approximately 10 microns, enabling fine catalyst recovery, crystal concentration and coke fines removal in demanding chemical circuits.

Crystal concentration and solids recovery ahead of centrifuges

KREBS® gMAX® cyclones placed before Decanter Screenbowl Centrifuges or other crystal dewatering equipment concentrate nucleated particles and substantially reduce the load on downstream operations. Small crystals in the cyclone overflow are returned to the crystalliser, increasing average crystal size and improving the performance of downstream washing or filtration processes.

Our process

  1. 1

    Solids removal and downstream protection

Solids in chemical process streams cause abrasive wear on heat exchangers, plug spray nozzles, overload filters and foul analytical instruments. KREBS® gMAX® cyclones and CP Vessels remove these particles continuously — protecting downstream equipment.

  2. 2

    Crystal concentration and product recovery

In evaporator and crystalliser circuits, KREBS® gMAX® cyclones concentrate nucleated particles ahead of centrifuges and dewatering equipment, substantially reducing the load on downstream operations.

  3. 3

    Fine particle and catalyst recovery

KREBS® CP Vessels pack multiple small-diameter ceramic cyclones into a single pressure vessel, delivering separations down to approximately 10 microns in a compact footprint with no moving parts and minimal maintenance requirements.

  4. 4

    Corrosive and high-temperature service

Chemical process streams present corrosion, temperature and pressure challenges that standard cyclone materials cannot meet. Our cyclones are available in a full range of special alloysEvery system is engineered to match your process conditions rather than requiring you to adapt your process to standard equipment.
