The Raptor 50 Series is the range of Raptor cone crushers sized for duty from 120 to 800 mtph: the R250, R350 and R450. All three are built on the same three-arm mainframe as the larger Raptor and are delivered as one standardised package. Above 800 mtph, the larger Raptor range runs from the R500 to the R2500.

Often, yes. The anchor pattern on the Raptor 50 Series matches the secondary and tertiary crushers already installed at this size class. Where the pattern matches, the existing foundation can be reused and the civil work comes out of the scope, which turns a capital rebuild into a change-out. Cone crusher size is decided by three things: the capacity you need in tonnes per hour, the product size you are aiming at, and how hard and abrasive your rock is. In the Raptor 50 Series, the R250 handles up to 310 mtph on secondary duty and up to 225 mtph on tertiary, the R350 up to 520 mtph and up to 300 mtph, and the R450 up to 640 mtph and up to 350 mtph. Above 800 mtph, the larger Raptor range takes over.

Secondary crushing is the stage straight after the primary crusher, reducing material that has already been through a jaw or a gyratory. Tertiary crushing is the final sizing stage before the mill or the product stockpile, working on smaller feed to a tighter product specification. The same cone crusher can do either, but capacity differs. A Raptor R450 handles up to 640 mtph on secondary duty and up to 350 mtph on tertiary, because a finer setting passes less material per hour.
