FLS equipment for water treatment processes
Intake water protection
Sand, grit and suspended solids from rivers, lakes, wells and ocean intakes must be removed before water enters plant equipment. KREBS® desanders and hydrocyclone manifolds protect downstream filtration, pumps and process equipment from abrasive wear, reducing maintenance and chemical usage in a compact footprint with no moving parts.

Sewage degritting
Grit entering sewage treatment plants, sand, gravel, eggshells, bone fragments and other inorganic solids, accumulates in digesters, reduces their effective capacity and forces costly, disruptive cleaning shutdowns. It also causes abrasive wear on pumps, pipework and mechanical equipment throughout the plant. KREBS® degritting hydrocyclones remove these inorganic solids from the incoming sewage stream continuously and reliably, with no moving parts and a compact footprint. Protecting digesters and downstream equipment from grit accumulation extends asset life, reduces maintenance costs and keeps the treatment plant operating at full design capacity.

Fine solids separation and classification
Efficient removal of fine particles determines downstream equipment protection and effluent quality. Our KREBS® gMAX® hydrocyclones deliver finer and sharper separations than conventional cyclones of the same diameter, operating at higher capacities and lower inlet pressure. For separations down to approximately 5 microns, ceramic cyclone vessels handle the most demanding requirements across industrial, municipal and oil and gas applications.

Sludge and clarifier underflow handling
Withdrawing sludge from clarifiers and thickener underflows requires a pump that maintains constant flow without dilution and handles the full range of viscosities. Our ODS® air-operated diaphragm pump eliminates gland water requirements, operates dry indefinitely and handles slurries with up to 75% solids, making it the preferred choice for sludge withdrawal and metered feed applications. For continuous heavy-duty transfer, the slurryMAX™ delivers constant hydraulic performance and predictable wear life.

Ballasted clarification and rapid settling
Where high solids loading and space constraints demand fast, efficient settling, the slurryMAX™ ballasted clarifier system combines proven pump technology with ballasted flocculation to achieve rapid separation in a compact footprint. This supports both primary clarification and water reuse in municipal and industrial treatment operations.

Flow control and isolation
Knife gate valves in water and slurry service must seal reliably against abrasive media without impeding flow. Our KREBS® KGA and KGD slurry knife gate valves are designed for exactly these duties, with a range of liner materials and pressure ratings to suit every application in the water treatment process, from narrow-space TGW installations through to high-pressure TGH service.
