Sump pumps

vMAX Pumps Making sump and plant floor clean-up a breeze!

Pumping highly viscous fluids or slurries containing large solids is fraught with difficulties. KREBS® vMAX vertical cantilever slurry pumps tackle these problems, eliminating build-up at the suction inlet, leakage from the casing back, and excessive vibration.

Key benefits of our sump pumps

  • Prevents solids from settling in the sump

An agitator is not necessary to prevent solids from settling in the sump. The vortex effect created by the vMAX pump's impeller creates enough turbulence to keep the solids in suspension and the sump free of sediment build-up.

  • No sump level control required

A fully recessed impeller allows solids to return down the discharge pipe when the slurry level falls below the pump suction without impacting the impeller. This eliminates the risk of violent vibration that can lead to catastrophic failure in conventional pump designs.

  • Prevent premature blinding of suction strainer

The suction strainer that prevents large particles from entering the pump is oversized to prevent premature blinding and avoid pump failure. This also eliminates the need to remove the pump for cleaning, extended operating life.

Our sump pumps

vMAX vertical cantilever slurry pumps

An optimised hydraulic design enables the vMAX pump to handle large solids and highly viscous fluids while its bottom-only suction configuration prevents clogging. It’s ideal for typical-to-extreme clean-up sump duties and can be supplied in a tank or on a skid.

  • Large solids passing size.
  • No sump level control is required.
  • Easy to operate, easy to maintain

vMAX-R vertical slurry pumps

The vMAX-R pump is a rubber-lined version of the vMAX pump. It was developed to handle the most difficult corrosive slurries with finer solids. The pump is adaptable to many acid and slurry temperature combinations and has multiple material options.

Maintenance & service of our sump pumps

Our network of service and spare parts centres ensures timely access to spare/wear parts and fast offsite rebuilds. Expert site service engineers monitor pump performance, recommending upgrades or updates to operating practices to maintain BEP as process conditions develop over time. We also offer operation and maintenance training, including adjusting the wear ring.

Our sump pumps

Sump pumps are used to manage slurry and water that accumulates during mining and mineral processing activities.

Vertical pumps are vertically suspended, with the motor and other components located above the liquid level, while the pumps wetend is submerged in the slurry.

They can handle max particle size of 56mm depending on the model and size of the pump.
