Key benefits of our medium-duty pumps

  • Low cost-per-tonne pumped

Designed to maintain constant operating speeds and reduce the impact of wear on operations, KREBS medium-duty pumps maintain hydraulic performance close to BEP throughout their life. The result is reduced energy consumption and maintenance requirements for a low average lifetime cost-per-tonne pumped.

  • Extend wear life

Easy control of suction-side clearance in millMAX-e and slurryMAX pumps maintains hydraulic performance through the pump's life, increasing the wear life of wet-end components. Meanwhile, hMAX pumps’ concentric casing eliminates radial loads, extending the life of pumps, seals, and bearings.

  • Optimise pump liner performance

With multiple, easily interchangeable elastomers, high-chrome alloys, and polyurethane combinations available, we have the wear material for any application. Using process data to understand your slurry, we tailor your liners to the application to deliver even, predictable wear and enable optimised maintenance scheduling to reduce downtime and inventory.

Our medium-duty pumps

hMAX slurry pumps

Suitable for applications where tramp material, product degradation, or entrained air can affect pump performance, the hMAX slurry pump features a recessed impeller and large internal clearances within a heavy-duty concentric casing.

  • Minimise product degradation.
  • Reduced risk of air locking.
  • Large solids passing size.

Maintenance & service of our medium-duty pumps

We provide comprehensive lifecycle support services for your KREBS slurry pumps. Our global network of service and spare parts centres ensures prompt access to parts and consumables, as well as offsite rebuilds through our pump rebuild exchange program. Our onsite service engineers monitor pump performance, offering recommendations for upgrades or adjustments to operating practices to maintain optimal efficiency as process conditions evolve over time. Additionally, we offer operation and maintenance training, including guidance on adjusting the wear ring.

Frequently asked questions

FAQs for medium-duty pumps

Medium-duty slurry pumps are designed to handle slurries with a moderate concentration of solids and abrasiveness. These pumps are suitable for various mining and industrial applications where the conditions are not as extreme as those handled by heavy-duty pumps

Choosing between lining options depends on the slurry characteristics and operating conditions. Rubber liners work well for fine particles. Metal liners are better against coarser slurries. Urethane is a stepping stone between rubber and metal, combining the characteristics of an elastomer with the tip speed limit of a high-chrome alloy.

Recessed impellers, such as that in our hMAX pumps, offer several benefits. The recessed profile allows clear passage of air-entrained slurries, without influencing the duty flow and head. Recessed impellers can also handle large particles and fibrous material without clogging and, because there is less direct contact with solids, impeller wear is reduced, extending operating life
