Heavy duty process pumps

Heavy-duty slurry pumps for lowest cost-per-ton pumped

Featuring our proprietary wear ring technology, KREBS® heavy-duty pumps reduce power consumption and extend wear life when pumping abrasive slurries. These reliable workhorses are built for mineral processing applications and others that require durable and reliable performance in harsh conditions.

Key benefits our heavy-duty process pumps

  • Maximise pump efficiency

Our proprietary adjustable wear ring technology enables quick, easy, and safe control of suction-side clearance while the pump is operating. By maintaining the optimal gap and preventing the grinding of solids between the impeller and suction side, our wear ring technology increases pump efficiency by 5-10% in slurry applications. The result of this is lower power consumption and a lower cost per tonne pumped.

  • Extend wear life of wet-end parts

By closing the gap and preventing recirculation within your pump using the adjustable wear ring, while also avoiding the grinding of solids between the impeller and suction side, KREBS pumps maintain design performance over their entire lifetime without the need to increase RPM. As a result, wear life is extended by 50-100% compared to traditional pumps.

  • Optimise pump liner performance

With multiple elastomers, high-chrome alloys, and polyurethane combinations available, KREBS pump liners are customized for each application to deliver even, predictable wear. This enables optimized maintenance scheduling, reducing both downtime and inventory.

Our heavy-duty pumps

gravelMAX slurry pumps

When pumping large solids, the gravelMAX pump is your answer. A large impeller-suction side clearance prevents in-pump grinding when entering the pump, while a wide-diameter impeller and increased cutwater clearance allow solids to exit the pump.

  • Pump large and abrasive solids.
  • All of the benefits of our wear ring.

Frequently asked questions

FAQs for heavy-duty pumps

Heavy-duty process pumps are built to withstand the challenging operating conditions found in certain industries, such as mining and mineral processing

Choosing between lining options depends on the slurry characteristics and operating conditions. Rubber liners work well for fine particles. Metal liners are better against coarser slurries. Urethane is a stepping stone between rubber and metal, combining the characteristics of an elastomer with the tip speed limit of a high-chrome alloy.

KREBS pumps can be offered with all three of the main drive-side sealing options: Water Flush, Centrifugal, and Mechanical. Within each of these categories, we also have further options.
