Double Roll Crusher

In mining operations, high throughputs and high availability are key – which is why the FLS Double Roll Crusher is designed to withstand the toughest mining conditions while delivering consistent, high-performance crushing. Whether you’re looking to increase efficiency, maximise productivity, or reduce downtime, our Double Roll Crushers are the ideal choice for primary crushing of soft and medium-hard rock.

Direct and V-belt drive options – Depending on your requirements, our Double Roll Crushers can be equipped with direct and with V-Belt drive options.

Versatile – The Double Roll Crusher crushes a wide range of material types reaching compressive strengths of up to 150 MPa and higher. It is less sensitive to wet and sticky material than RollSizers and can take in larger feed sizes, making it the optimal primary crusher for soft and medium hard rocks.

Eccentric Roll Crusher

Our Eccentric Roll Crusher (ERC®) is a game-changer for primary crushing of hard rock and ore in underground and surface operations. Compact and robust, our ERC® features an integrated screen, which provides significantly higher efficiency and greater capacity than conventional primary crushers.

Two machines in one – The ERC combines a crusher and a screen in a compact design that simplifies transportation, installation and maintenance. The integrated screen increases the efficiency of the machine, as fine material is bypassed directly and not passed through the crushing chamber. This reduces energy consumption and the risk of material compacting and overloading the crushing chamber

Highly energy efficient crushing – The ERC is designed for outstanding comminution intensity, high throughput and the most efficient use of crushing energy, thanks to the particularly effective kinematic of the oscillating roll, with constant stroke across the entire crusher cavity. The high moments of inertia of the roll and flywheels contribute to accumulated crushing energy and effectively compensate for the load peaks that occur during comminution.

Frequently asked questions

FAQs for roll crushers

A roll crusher is a type of compression crusher used in mining and aggregate industries to crush and reduce the size of various materials. It consists of one or more cylindrical rollers that rotate toward each other, pulling in and crushing the material between them.

The principal of a roll crusher is based on compression crushing between either a single rotating roller and a fixed surface or multiple rotating rollers.

The difference between a jaw and roll crusher is in their mode of operation. A jaw crusher uses a swing jaw and fixed jaw to crush materials by compression crushing. In a roll crusher, materials are compressed between rotating jaws.

The feed size of a roll crusher varies depending on the chosen model, from hundreds to thousands of tonnes per hour. Our largest model, the <WHAT?> crushes 14 000 tph.

An eccentric roll crusher combines the benefits of roll and jaw crushing. The ERC features an eccentric shaft positioned above the crushing chamber. The eccentric motion generated by the shaft allows the roll to oscillate within the crusher frame, compressing and crushing the material against a stationary anvil or curved crushing plate. This hybrid design allows the ERC to achieve efficient and effective crushing with a higher reduction ratio.

A double roll crusher is a type of compression crusher in which material passes through two rotating rolls and is crushed to a uniform size.

A Single Roll Crusher uses one rotating roll to crush the material against a stationary surface, while a Double Roll Crusher employs two rotating rolls to crush material, which provides a more uniform output size.

The capacity of a double roll crusher ranges from 2500 tph to 14 000 tph depending on the model.
