Key benefits of the GradePro Classifier

  • Recover most value from low-grade feeds

Overcome obstacles and improve the economics of processing low-grade feed using the GradePro Classifier to deliver significantly higher upgrade ratios than the REFLUX Classifier in low-grade and tailings applications.

  • Smaller footprint and flexibility

The compact design of the GradePro Classifier allows it to be easily integrated into existing mineral processing plants. Its smaller footprint compared to other fine particle recovery technologies makes it an ideal solution for operations with limited space. At the same time, its flexible design allows it to be tailored to a wide range of mineral types and applications.

  • Improve the energy efficiency of low-grade feed processing

The GradePro Classifier reduces energy consumption by allowing for more efficient particle separation at lower power inputs. The system’s fluidised bed and lamella plate design require minimal energy, providing significant energy savings compared to conventional fine particle separation technologies.

  • Recover value from tailings

In addition to processing low-grade ores, the GradePro Classifier is highly effective in recovering valuable particles from the tailings stream, turning waste into profit and extending the economic life of mining operations.

Development of the GradePro Classifier

Diminishing ore grades and escalating mineral demand are compelling the need for innovation to make the processing of low-grade ores and tailings economically feasible. The GradePro Classifier is one such development. Building on FLS’s established REFLUX Classifier (RC™) foundation, the GradePro Classifier features an enhanced design that optimises particle separation for fine and ultra-fine particles.

The GradePro Classifier operates on the same principles as the original RC but with significant enhancements that allow it to handle even finer particles. The technology uses inclined lamella plates to create a large surface area for fine particle sedimentation. At the same time, the fluidised bed at the unit's base allows for precise separation based on particle density. This bed operates with secondary fluidisation, which further enhances the recovery of valuable minerals by allowing the bed to achieve greater stability and better separation. This additional fluidisation also helps to improve the recovery of ultra-fine particles.

Become an early adopter of the GradePro Classifier

As FLS continues to refine and scale the technology, the company is seeking early adopters to participate in pilot trials and commercial deployments. Early adopters have the unique opportunity to be at the forefront of developing a technology that promises to revolutionise fine particle recovery.

Offering higher recovery rates, energy efficiency, improved water management, and the ability to process low-grade ores, the GradePro Classifier could be a game-changer for mining companies looking to optimise their operations and meet their sustainability goals. Beyond these operational advantages, early adopters of coarseAIR Coarse Particle Flotation can position themselves as leaders in responsible mining during a time of increasing pressure to reduce the mining’s environmental and social impact.
