Development of the GradePro Classifier
Diminishing ore grades and escalating mineral demand are compelling the need for innovation to make the processing of low-grade ores and tailings economically feasible. The GradePro Classifier is one such development. Building on FLS’s established REFLUX Classifier (RC™) foundation, the GradePro Classifier features an enhanced design that optimises particle separation for fine and ultra-fine particles.
The GradePro Classifier operates on the same principles as the original RC but with significant enhancements that allow it to handle even finer particles. The technology uses inclined lamella plates to create a large surface area for fine particle sedimentation. At the same time, the fluidised bed at the unit's base allows for precise separation based on particle density. This bed operates with secondary fluidisation, which further enhances the recovery of valuable minerals by allowing the bed to achieve greater stability and better separation. This additional fluidisation also helps to improve the recovery of ultra-fine particles.
