Wear solutions made by miners, for miners

  • Tailored solutions, trusted performance

FLS offers customised wear lining solutions that are designed for mining applications, not a one size fits all approach. Our solutions are trusted by mining companies worldwide to deliver reliable performance and superior durability in even the harshest mining environments.

  • Maximise equipment lifetime

By utilizing FLS advanced wear coatings and wear panels, you can significantly extend the life of your equipment. Our solutions are engineered to withstand extreme wear and impact, reducing the frequency of replacements and minimizing downtime. In fact, WEAR MAX(R) has proven to last up to 2X longer than competitors, and our FerroCer wear panels up to 10X longer.

  • A partnership lowering your cost per tonne

Optimising wear parts with FLS durable wear coatings and panels helps reduce maintenance costs and improve operational efficiency. This results in lower cost per tonne and a more sustainable, cost-effective operation over time. FLS also has a world-class network of field service engineers available, combining with our full flowsheet capabilities, to be a true partner.

Increasing uptime and productivity

Fabricated from a proprietary mixture of epoxy and wear resistant ceramic beads, WEAR MAX® combines the hard-wearing properties of ceramic with bonding properties of epoxy. WEAR MAX is proven to reduce abrasion wear problems commonly occurring in bulk handling and processing equipment.

Protecting against sliding erosion

WEAR MAX is proven to reduce abrasion wear problems commonly occurring in bulk handling and processing equipment such as pipes, chutes, silos, tanks, and casings. It adheres effectively to most clean and dry surfaces including metal, ceramic, rubber and concrete. WEAR MAX reaches maximum hardness after curing for just 24 hours, based on an ambient temperature of 23°C (73°F), so you can get back to work with little downtime.

Powerful impact resistance

FerroCer are our composite wear panels, taking the advantages of malleable steel and combining them with the wear resistance of ceramic liners. FerroCer can save you money in all your high impact applications, such as discharge chutes, crushers and hoppers. From the moment FerroCer wear panels are installed, you can reduce maintenance shut-downs, operational downtime and operating costs. This combined with easy installation and affordable pricing means that FerroCer wear panels deliver the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) on the market.

Advanced wear solutions for all applications

From pipes to centrifuges, buckets to silos, every surface that is exposed to wear has a solution within the FLS portfolio. For example, our alumina and silicon carbide ceramic lined piping systems extend the life of pipes, valves, nozzles, and more, while our impact wear panels help protect chutes from the impact of medium-sized rocks. Frequently asked questions

FAQs for wear coating and panels

Wear lining solutions can be made from a range of different materials, all chosen for their ability to withstand impact or reduce sliding erosion. For example, our WEAR MAX wear lining solution is an alumina ceramic epoxy, so it goes on like a glue but has the wear resistance of ceramic. It’s perfect for coating equipment that would otherwise be eroded by the movement of abrasive materials, such as the inside of a centrifuge. Our other wear lining solutions are made from different materials, but always with specific knowledge of how a particular application is affected by wear and what we need to do to protect the equipment.

A wear liner is a coating that protects equipment from impact and/or abrasion. It can be a liquid coating that cures hard – like WEAR MAX – or a wear panel that is bolted to the equipment, like FerroCer wear panels.

Ceramic wear liners are wear lining solutions made with ceramic, usually with a high quantity of alumina. Our FerroCer wear panels feature ceramic inserts for impact and abrasion resistance, but we also produce complete ceramic tiles with 92% alumina for sliding abrasion applications.

Yes, WEAR MAX can be applied to components, such as launders, that will be in contact with liquids like slurry.
