Beyond the daily grind – milling and grinding technology for the long haul

Solutions for Wet and Dry Grinding

FT Series Mills can be used as ball mills, rod mills or pebble mills, in trunnion overflow, grate, peripheral or airswept discharge for wet and dry applications. FT Series Mills are also well suited for most flue gas desulfurisation (FGD) projects. They are designed in standard sizes from 1.6 to 4.3 meters in diameter, made modular for fast installation and scalability. The FT Series is super flexible and can be used in wet and dry grinding for smaller capacities and specific applications.

Frequently asked questions

FAQs for grinding

Grinding mills reduce the size of materials to a uniform particle size, enabling materials to progress for further processing. Grinding mills use a grinding rather than crushing process to achieve the desired results. Minerals processing generally uses wet grinding, where water is added to create a slurry that makes grinding more efficient.

Grinding is the act of reducing the size of rock and ore to aid the liberation of minerals and metals. In mining, this process begins with crushing, which reduces the material to a size that is suitable for milling. In the mill, material size is further reduced to enable separation.

Ore grinding is the milling of ore to reduce its size for further processing. Depending on the application, ore grinding can take place in a ball mill, SAG or AG mill, tower mill, rod mill or HPGR.
