Key benefits of sensors and vision systems

  • Maximise throughput and efficiency with Smart Sensors

Smart sensors can be implemented on equipment across the flowsheet. From crushers to conveyors and pumps in all applications, sensors can deliver data associated with the operating condition of the equipment to give insights for better decision making. For example, LoadIQ, our mill load optimisation tool, uses sensors to enable throughput increases of 3 – 6%.

  • Increase recovery with Smart Vision Systems

Our specially developed froth cameras use Deep Neural Networks to optimise process and reagent control in flotation cells. Although the technology is complex, the principle is simple: you can see more, and therefore you can recover more. This means less valuable product to tailings, and more profit for you.

  • Easy implementation and quick ROI

Our sensors and vision systems don’t require complex installation or prolonged outages – they're basically plug and play solutions that get to work immediately to increase your profitability. That’s why these tools provide a quick return on investment.

Our sensors and vision systems

LoadIQ smart sensor

Utilised on SAG and AG grinding mills, LoadIQ is designed to optimised mill loading levels resulting in maximising throughput, liner life and energy efficiency.

Froth vision camera

Our froth vision camera gives insight to customers and identifies key froth characteristics, enabling data-driven decision making to maximise recovery rates.

Wear sensors

Currently designed for crusher and mill liners, wear sensors will allow customers to optimise their change out schedules of the liners and create a more efficient operation.

SmartCyclone

SmartCyclone monitors your cyclone parameters and identifies the early warning signs that could lead to failure, which minimises risks of process distruptions and optimises maintenance planning or flow rate.

HPGR stud detection

High pressure grinding rolls (HPGR) stud detection system is in place to continually monitor and measure roll surfaces, notifying of immediate damage and wear rate to enable better scheduling of roll replacements and optimising grinding efficiency.

Add-ons for sensors & vision systems

Maintenance & Service of sensors & vision systems

Many of these systems can be installed without outside support, but for extra reassurance call on our installation and commissioning services to ensure smooth start up and make sure the technology is working as it should. Maintenance on sensors and vision systems is minimal, but if you need us, our field services team and digital experts will be available to get your technology back up and running.

Frequently asked questions

FAQs for sensors & vision systems

Sensors and vision systems are two ways to optimise efficiency in the mining industry. Sensors collect data based on specific signals such as vibration and others, while vision systems draw data from images. Both sensors and vision systems are augmented by digital tools such as algorithms to provide useful information to control systems.
