Company Announcement to the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority No. 23-2014, 25 November 2014
FLSmidth has signed an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contract with one of the world's largest cement producers CEMEX for the supply of a new cement production line to be installed at CEMEX's Odessa cement plant. The plant is located in western Texas, USA. Once the installation is finished, the cement production line is expected to have a capacity of approximately 2,540 metric tonnes per day.
The expansion will utilize state-of-the-art production technology resulting in higher fuel efficiency and improved productivity. The equipment scope includes a 5-stage ILC preheater with a Low NOx Calciner, 3-pier kiln, FLSmidth® Cross-Bar® cooler, Duoflex® burner, Pfister® weighing and dosing systems, gas analyzers and three Fuller-Kinyon® pumps. Furthermore, an FLSmidth control system will ensure the most efficient operation.
"FLSmidth has a very strong local presence in the US, and the new production line will help CEMEX keep pace with the rapidly growing cement demand from the oil and gas industry in the West Texas market," President of the Cement Division Per Mejnert Kristensen comments.
The order will be booked by the Cement Division and contribute beneficially to FLSmidth's earnings until late 2016.
